March 19, 2012

We only got to fish until noon today due to the high winds. We still managed to boat 13 bass up to 8.69 lbs. Most of our fish today were caught on squarebill crankbaits (Jackall Aska 60 SR and Jackall Bling 55), but we did catch a few on a drop shot before the wind got too bad to fish effectively. I'm still fishing for staging fish even though I know there are lots of fish shallower. These fish are typically less pressured this time of year and they tend to run a little bigger as far as average size.

They are predicting 6-7" of rain for us over the next couple of days, and as saturated as our ground is, we will get a lot of run-off. We won't be 4.5' low for long. We should see a major rise if what they predict comes true.
